| Fly ash is formed from the non-combustible minerals found in coal. Fly ash particles are spherical in shape and are 4 times finer than cement. Calcium hydroxide produced when cement hydrates along with the lime of cement activates the fly ash particles creating strength gain of 10-15% from 28 to 56 days. Fly ash also aids pumping, finishing, permability, and sulfate attack. |
| Portland Cement is the catalyst for strength and set time in plastic concrete. Cement is a wide blend of natural minerals including Lime, Calcium, Iron, Silicates, and Aluminum. Limestone morrow is 80% of portland cement, 10% Gypsum, 10% Bottom Ash. Cement raw material is heated to 2700 degrees and cooled. Cement Clinker is ground to a fine powder. It is bulked shipped and usually pneumatically blown into concrete plant silos. |
